The failure of most Republican politicians to do any deep thinking on any issue during the past couple of decades helped bring about the presidency of Barack Obama. Here in Illinois, the result has been the long-running tenure of state House Speaker Democrat Mike Madigan, and the governorships of Rod Blagojevich and Pat Quinn.
Note that I said that Republicans failed to do “deep thinking on any issue.” It’s not just the economic issues they dropped the ball on. How well have Republicans communicated the way they would like to reform entitlements or the health care system? We all know our Congressional Republicans did a miserable job explaining the war in Iraq – and now they’re duplicating that grave error concerning Afghanistan.
Most GOP politicians still don’t even realize that the pro-life stance is now a winning issue. And when it comes to the battle between so-called “homosexual rights” agenda and the First Amendment protection of Religious Freedom, it’s difficult to find a Republican politician with two brain cells to rub together.
They all need to attend Peter LaBarbera’s Americans for Truth Academy and learn about the depravity of a movement that only advances because our side lacks serious, informed, and strong leaders in the political fray. At a minimum, all of those political “leaders” should buy the DVDs, visit the AFTAH website often, and support its work financially.
Recently, Illinois Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady said he’d attend the depraved “pride” parade in Chicago featuring countless acts of public lewdness and a crowd of people that would have us believe that Gender Identity Disorder and related maladies should no longer be considered mental illnesses.
In many ways Bill Brady’s knowledge base typifies that of Republican politicians these days — a mile wide and an inch deep. And saying he’s a mile wide when it comes to the destructive homosexual agenda is way too generous.
This website has never been shy about setting the standard when it comes to defending the practical side of the “social issues.” Civilization is behavior — yet too few people understand that if your culture is rotten to the core, you can kiss your economic prosperity bye-bye.
There is no record in the history of mankind of a people behaving like amoral children suffering from arrested development — and staying prosperous – and successfully defending themselves from foreign enemies. None. And America won’t be the first because it’s not possible.
Conservative Republican candidates are fooling themselves into thinking that all they need to do is only change their ways when it comes to the economic issues. Wrong. It’s another example of shallow thinking.
They need to improve on every front since they’ve failed on every front. The radical left never rests. The conservative right shouldn’t either. If Republicans foolishly abide by moratoriums — we lose ground on the other issue battlefields. What I just wrote in that last sentence is not a profound statement. But the sad reality is that only a minority of GOP candidates can comprehend it.
Moral neutrality is for idiots, wimps, and adults without backbones. Is that clear enough for you? The time for leadership is now — on every issue. Those who attempt to remain neutral are merely assisting the amoral side.

Post Script — The Illinois Family Institute’s Dave Smith brought this encouraging news item to my attention today:
Sen. Jim DeMint told a crowd of supporters Friday evening that he will continue to recruit like-minded Conservatives across the nation to run for Congress and pastors to join the fight to “take our country back.” …
DeMint said if someone is openly homosexual, they shouldn’t be teaching in the classroom and he holds the same position on an unmarried woman who’s sleeping with her boyfriend — she shouldn’t be in the classroom.
“(When I said those things,) no one came to my defense,” he said. “But everyone would come to me and whisper that I shouldn’t back down. They don’t want government purging their rights and their freedom of religion.”
